In 2025, Lalaga Pasifika proudly hosted our first-ever Homeschool Camp, bringing together Pasifika families and families from diverse backgrounds for connection, community, and culturally grounded learning.

Rooted in Pasifika values, the camp created an intentionally inclusive space where children and parents learned from activities and from one another. Families connected through shared meals, storytelling, and creative activities, fostering friendships, mutual support, and a strong sense of belonging.

The camp embodied the meaning of lalaga—“to weave”—bringing together families, cultures, generations, and learning approaches. Pasifika identity was celebrated, while space was made for others to share their stories, encouraging understanding and inclusion.

The camp strengthened social, emotional, and educational wellbeing, leaving families feeling connected, confident, and supported. This initiative demonstrates how culturally led, inclusive programs can enhance learning outcomes, strengthen communities, and foster belonging across diverse homeschooling families.
